Dear Tony,
Thank you for having such a great product! My name is Rick Morris, and I play Guitar in a cover band in the north Atlanta area. Our name is MidLife Crisis, and we are having a blast playing music for people. Your leads have helped me immensely! THANK YOU ! Rick Morris Atlanta, GA I am just writing to say that once I eventually worked out how to use it, it is simplicity itself, and I am living proof that it is simple for blind people to use as well. Without a shadow of a doubt I will be ordering all and any CD's that you bring out, it is the most perfect way of learning guitar lead that I have ever seen. Finally, I would like to thank you for all the help I was given along the way, and hope that you bring out many more CD's. Thank you Scottie London, England More Customer Comments >> |

Popularly known as the "New Orleans Dynamo" all over the world, Frankie Ford is one the true legends of American rock & roll and rhythm & blues. Born in Gretna, Louisiana on August 4, 1939, he was adopted and raised by a couple Vincent & Anna Guzzo. Music was in his blood and he was into studying music at a very early age. Frankie Ford made his first appearance on stage at the tender age of 5 in early 1945 and he never stopped. He has been on a roll ever since with the first major break coming in 1952, when he performed on The Ted Mack Amateur Hour in New York and won many other local, regional and national vocal competitions. During the early years, Frankie Ford took his inspiration from piano giants like Clarence "Frogman" Henry, Huey Smith, Fats Domino, Ray Charles and Professor Longhair.
The big break came in 1959 when Frankie Ford sang his way to stardom with the super hit "SEA CRUISE". The song made him an international celebrity overnight and is considered as one of the greatest rock n' roll classics of all time even today. It earned the status of Top 20 hits in a short time and adored the charts for many weeks. The song became Frankie Ford's signature tune and the tag line, "OOH-WEE, OOH-WEE, BABY" became his trademark. Almost 5 decades later, it remains one of the most recognizable lines in all of classic rock'n roll music. "OOH-WEE" stays alive as the emblem of Frankie's car license plates in Louisiana where he still lives in his hometown suburb of Gretna.
The song "Sea Cruise" was written by Huey "Piano" Smith, a popular piano player from New Orleans, who recorded the original version with Gerri Hall. This blues song was re-recorded with teenage Frankie Ford to give it a new dimension with powerful and younger voice in anticipation of bigger commercial success. The idea worked well beyond the expectations of everyone and the song became a mega hit.
