Dear Tony,
Thank you for having such a great product! My name is Rick Morris, and I play Guitar in a cover band in the north Atlanta area. Our name is MidLife Crisis, and we are having a blast playing music for people. Your leads have helped me immensely! THANK YOU ! Rick Morris Atlanta, GA I am just writing to say that once I eventually worked out how to use it, it is simplicity itself, and I am living proof that it is simple for blind people to use as well. Without a shadow of a doubt I will be ordering all and any CD's that you bring out, it is the most perfect way of learning guitar lead that I have ever seen. Finally, I would like to thank you for all the help I was given along the way, and hope that you bring out many more CD's. Thank you Scottie London, England More Customer Comments >> |

When the music duos are remembered for their contribution to the rock or rock-related music, Hall & Oates dictate the scene along with big name musicians like Simon & Garfunkel, The Everly Brothers, Ike & Tina Turner, Loggins & Messina, Seals & Croft and a handful of few others. Ranked #11 in the prestigious DigitalDreamDoor's compilation of 100 greatest music duos, Daryl Hall (real name Hohl) and John Oates came to lime light in the late 70's with their unique style of music that is a perfect blend of ballad oriented pop, blue and soul music. With a constant flurry of hit singles till the mid 80's, Hall & Oates dominated all music charts with dozens of songs. They had a top 40 hit in the pop charts even as late as 1990. In total, this pair of great songwriters and composers is credited with thirty-four hit singles on the U.S. Billboard Hot 100 and as of 2006;
Hall and Oates have seven RIAA platinum albums along with six RIAA gold albums. This is quite an achievement that only a few musicians can boast about.
The story of Hall & Oates getting together is an amazing coincident as if they were destined to form one of the greatest duos in the music history. Daryl Hall first met John Oates at the Adelphi Ballroom in Philadelphia in 1967 while attending Temple University when both of the music pundits were leading their own musical groups - the Temptones (Hall) and the Masters (Oates) - at the time. They both happened to be there at a band competition when gunfire broke out between two rival gangs; and while trying to escape, they ran into each other trying to take the service elevator. Because of their similar musical tastes, they were talking on the same wavelength and became friendly during this short encounter. It would take them another two years to form the musical duo of Hall & Oates that eventually signed contract with
Atlantic Records and released their debut album "Whole Oats", the word Whole probably comes from Hall's similar sounding real name Hohl.

Hall & Oates left Atlantic Records after the release of next albums Abandoned Luncheonette and War Babies to join RCA. Their first album for the new label, Daryl Hall and John Oates (often referred to by fans as The Silver Album) was a milestone and turning point in their career. The ballad of "Sara Smile", a song Hall wrote for his girl friend Sara Allen, became a major hit. The albums cover featured the then longhaired Hall with Sara where he looked like a woman. Hall clarified later in an interview that he looked like "the girl I always wanted to go out with" on the album cover. Complemented by the "Sara Smile" became their first top-ten hit, reaching number four on the Billboard Hot 100 chart in June 1976.
"Sarah Smile" was the beginning of a big blast that saw the duo of Hall & Oates flying sky high with sensational hits like "Out of Touch," "Private Eyes," "Maneater," "Rich Girl," "She's Gone," "Kiss on My List," "Say It Isn't So" and "I Can't Go for That." The song "Rich Girl" was Hall and Oates' first number-one hit, climbing the peak in March 1977. In 2003, Daryl Hall and John Oates were voted into the Songwriter's Hall of Fame.
